GLA Awards

Each year the Georgia Library Association recognizes exemplary library service and advocacy in Georgia through a variety of awards for librarians, library staff, trustees and vendors/friends. Detailed information about the GLA awards nomination process is available below.

Complete a nomination form and write a letter supporting the nomination. Feel free to provide additional documentation about the nominee’s contributions to libraries and/or GLA (10 pages max).

GLA Scholarships

Each year, GLA awards two scholarships to individuals pursuing Master's degrees in Library and Information Science. The Beard Scholarship ($1,500) and Hubbard Scholarship ($3,000) are meant to offset the high cost of pursuing further education.

Recipients must commit to working in a Georgia library for one year after graduation.

Library Staff Grants

Are you a full-time library worker without a master’s degree in library or information science? Consider applying for the Georgia Library Association’s Library Staff Grant.

Grant recipients receive

  • An award plaque
  • Funding to attend the Georgia Libraries Conference
  • A one-year library staff membership in the Georgia Library Association

BIPOC Travel Grant
